Upon moving to London (UK) in 2021 to earn a Master's Degree in Filmmaking, Deven divulged into performing his poetry live for the first time in his life. The first ever poem that he performed on stage was a poem written on a quite afternoon, titled "Ghosts of London", that arose from a fantastical encounter of a Sikh man and a Muslim girl who find themselves brazen in an erotic embrace in a London bed, drawing irony from the fact the the British Empire was responsible for partitioning the countries of India and Pakistan thereby causing widespread fatal riots and long-lasting deep religious and social conflicts between the two ethnic groups - Muslims and Sikhs.

In 2022, while writing a screenplay for his graduation film, Deven drew inspiration from this poem, that was based on a topic he felt so passionately about, to pen the screenplay for London, Punjab, which went on to be selected by the commissioned board at London Film Academy to be made into a short film.

London Punjab is a riveting, heart wrenching drama about the devastating echoes of war, conflict and "diplomatic" decisions, whilst cradling a quietly boiling love story breaking all norms dictated by said diplomacies.

In 2023, the film achieved a screening at the Cannes Film Festival's Court Métrage Short Film Corner.
